VA RX7 Turbo II 13B Rebuild Question

So this is the 1st time building an engine. I am using Mazda Apex Seals. So I broke a corner off the one seal where the groove is at. Does this mean it is junk now?

If you're talking about the triangular shaped piece, you can just re-attach it with a small dab of superglue. It's supposed to detach once the engine is run anyway.

VA Engine Won't turn now!!!

Awesome that is what I thought and did. Now to my next problem. After the engine is almost all the way assembled and together. I was putting the oil chain on and when i went to tighten it the engine would not move. So I have taken all that back apart and flipped the engine. I took the flywheel nut off and still not moving. So I guess one of the rotors is jammed? Could I have over tightened the engine bolts when I put them on? I put them on about 12-15 lbs of torque. I might be done for today I guess. I'll check back and maybe someone will chime in with an idea. It is a little depressing lol.

Did you lube up all of the inner surfaces really well? There's not much you can do wrong mechanically to cause it to bind aside from a seal falling out during assembly or the like. Something physically jamming the rotor.

VA

So I tore it apart. A side seal was broke so I ended up using one of the older ones in place of that 1. I also think I figured out the correct way of assembling it. The first time things were a little rough, but the second time everything seemed to go so much smoother. The engine is together and at least turns. I will get it all hooked up this week and hopefully all will be good. Thanks for the assist. I think sometimes it just takes some reassuring when you run into a snag from someone that has been through it.

Styx is a wealth of knowledge, and I've watched those cake bids, they are on point.
