Question rx7 guys with nitrous question

I was talking to a mechanic today who is working on my friends FD, but we started talking about nitrous - I have a 91 n/a (my mods are in my sig) and I am going to supercharge soon, but to get some more speed out of it before I supercharge I was going to put a nitrous kit on, the mechanic said that it would not be safe to run nitrous - he said that it would blow the apex seals, but I was thinking that if I put a 50 shot on and did not spray all the time that it would be perfectly safe, would it?? and how far can I safely go(how large of a shot 50, 75,100)?? any opinions would be appreciated.

ok not to be an *** and since i dont want to be one ill help you out, i found TONS of nitrous information in the 2nd gen forum searching "supercharger"... dont ask me why but im sure if i got that many good links from that search then "n20" or "nitrous" will pull plenty.... on the first page of the "supercharger" search there is a huge in depth thread about nitrous with supercharger, id find it for ya but have to go and dont have time... good luck

and also my opinion: any person that says n20 will blow your motor apart and will kill your engine is a dumbass and doesnt know what the **** they are talking about unless you said "i want to spray a 200 shot" well ya duh youll blow your engine to hell doing that. just be safe and dont use a shot more than half your hp the motor puts out. i plan on getting n20 when i put my turbo on the motor and will more than likely go with a wet shot, dont quote me on that i think wet is better for the rx7 rotaries but youll find all about it under searching "supercharger"

Yea, nitrous is perfectly safe, as long as tuned properly like any other type of FI. Id personally make sure to run a wet shot..

Go for it, I'd like to do it to mine in the future. Keep the reliability of an N/A and turn on the bottle for the track. Good combo I think

even though you say you didn't want to be an *** you successfully achieved "***" status by posting the link - I wanted a SPECIFIC answer to my question, not a bunch of crap like I would have turned up in a search.

Anyway, thanks for all the other input guys, I think that I will be running a 75 shot, wet of course, and the mechanic is just learning about 7's he is the only one around here willing to work on them and he is actually very good. I didn't tell him what I would be running, but maybe he assumed that I would try to run a 200 shot.

actually everything i learned about n2o on a rotary engine i have learned from searching, anything about piston engines i have learned from searching on another board. like i said earlier there was a great thread on supercharging and nitrous, so in other words "search" may turn up crap but if you KNOW HOW TO "SEARCH" then it will turn up useful data. i even told you what to search thats better than saying "do a search *******" right?!?!? anyway i was looking at the responds to this post and it was really nothing helpful to the extent you need, nobody told you what kit to run, how much to run, how to run, when to run ect... i wouldnt want to tell you all of this because i dont have personal exp with n20 on a rotary so my advice would be based on hearsay. anyway hope you find what your looking for
