RX7 engine help
I was wondering if you could help me. I bought an 1988 RX7 a few months ago but I haven't been able to get the car to run. It turns on, but it only stays like dat for a few seconds and also were the spark plugs are gets filled with gas. I've taken it with many mechanics here in my town but none have the sufficient knowledge to fix it. I have looked for the answer to my question in the forums but I think I wasn't searching in the right place. I would really appreciate and help I can get.

I was about to ask where you were, but then I saw eagle pass. Too bad, cause thats kinda away from any big cities. Anyway, the chambers filling with gas is flooding. This happens for many reasons, the most common being old sticky injectors, but can happen on low compression engines as well. It also happens occasionally on healthy engine if not warmed up properly, but I don't think thats the case with you since it sounds like it happens every time.
First, what exactly is it doing? Will it start for a bit then die and not start because its flooded? If it dies immediately it could be either the AFM is unplugged or bad.
Anyway, do a compression test to check the general condition of the motor. You can get a piston compression tester and stick in the trailing plug hole. Remove the egi fuses and have someone crank the engine over. Hold the release valve down and watch the needle. You want even bounces on all faces, with decent compression being at least 80-85.
Also, it would be a good idea to get the injectors cleaned since it sounds like they are sticking causing it to flood. You can send them to www.cruzinperformance.com. They clean and flowbench them for 12 bucks a piece plus shipping plus they give you a nifty chart showing before and after flow results.
There could be some other problems with the car too, so hopefully some other people will chime in.

well i had a similar issue when i did a n/a to tII conversion. i checked everything and then i was looking at my fuse panel and the 15 am engine fuse was blown. after i replaced that i was good to go. i know that you have probably checked the fuses but the frist time around i didn't notice it until i actually pulled it out. i was blown more towards the bottom. good luck
