describe your problem a bit better? As I'm reading it, your car will start up for a brief time, then shut down? If it starts up, then runs for ~3 to 5 seconds, then shuts down (reguardless of how much throttle or anything you give it), it's the AFM (Air Flow Meter). It's the silver box connected to your airbox. Pull out the FSM, and look around in it (see the FAQ at the top of this forum for download links).
There's a yellow jumper in a black rubber surround that's by the passenger side shock tower, if you jumper that, and the car stays running, it's definately your AFM. More ways to check it are in the FSM.

You know, we REALLY need a simple troubleshooting guide for all these guys who can't get their cars started.
You know, check this, check that, blah blah...

So you did decide to just go ahead and rebuild her for the cooling problems?
Rx7Reality- on the J-specs, you have to make sure the fuel inlet and return lines are installed properly- the rat's nest metal lines that the fuel hoses connect to are backwards, compared to the A-spec cars...
You're just gonna have to go system by system, making sure you have spark, checking the AFM as was mentioned, making sure the fuel is getting there, etc...
When you get to the point where you know which system is giving you fits, we can help you out a bit better

ok this is the problem.. i capped all the vacuum plugs... and now the car jumps to 1000 rpm and then dies... but if i press the gas it would rev up but then it would die again... but if i have somebody press the gas and i pull off the intercooler the car would stay on but stay at around 1500 and jump up and down to 1000...

See the USA arrangement in the attached jpg.
The jspec I understand is different.
The fuel pressure regulator should be the very last item befor the fuel is routed back to the fuel tank, whether jspec or USA.
