RX7.com screwed me.
I ordered a Bonez Superflo convertor system from RX7.com, alongs with some other items. That system bolts to the manifold and your catback system (replaces pre-cat and main cat). 100% BOLT IN according to them.
Received it with no delays and thought everything was going good.
Started replacing my old system and the **** began to fly.
It would not effectively clear the transmission heat shield, nor would it actually line up remotely close for the catback system to bolt to it.
It even looked as if the end that connects to the catback was reversed.
In short, it took bending, cutting, welding, and about 3+ hours total of time, along with extra $$$ to get their system to fit on my car ('86 RX7 N/A, 71000 Miles, Auto).
Guess what the effort of actually getting it to fit got me? One shitty sounding car. If a blind person had to identify this vehicle by the sound, they'd probably say it was one junked up 4x4.
It also feels like it picked up some vibes.
I really thought these guys at RX7.com would have their **** together considering they race and all.
I'm sending this frankenstein unit promptly back to them and see if they will be generous enough to take $315 from their quality inspection deptarment (laff) and refund my purchase (I actually spent like $500 there with other stuff included).
But they probably won't. They will probably be like
'JC Pennys' and say "oh wait, you already washed those clothes so we can't refund your purchase".
I'll let you know what happens.

The problem lies in the fact that you have an automatic. They tend to only deal in 5-speed stuff. I have a friend who had the same delimma, fortunatly, he lives about 5 minutes from Rotary Performance, and they put it in for him. Good luck in getting your $$ back, but don't hold your breath, and call your lawyer.

You should have confirmed that you ordered/ recieved the right part from them right away when you found out there were fitment issues. Chances are you have the wrong one. They have been courteous and helpfull to me on the phone and their racepipe fit like a glove on my NA. Hope you didn't hack it up when you could have returned it for the right piece. Hope you called and talked to them before trying to defame them publicly.

i just bought a HIGH QUALITY, WELL MADE race pipe from rx7.com and it fit LIKE A GLOVE. I have a 5-speed or maybe that is my luck, either way once you altered the cat-pipe, you bought ,tax, tags, and license. sorry to hear of your misfortune, but like amemiya said you did do more than wash it. Good luck, i hope they will help you out in your search for the perfect toned exhuast.

If you bought the wrong item, I really dont think you should be the one bitching.
Anyway I put my high flow system on last week. It fits perfectly to the RB cat back. The power loss I lost from gutted cats is very minimal. It sounds really good together with the RB cat back. It has no chainsaw noise when i am on or off the gas. I love it. Its kinda pricey, but worth it. I passed emission with flying color

As soon as it looked like it wouldn't fit, you should have called them.
If you haven't even spoken with them yet, stop bitching!
You'll see as this thread continues that the guys at RP are all about customer service and positive experiences.

Does it have any markings on the unit to specify the model so you can check that vs the website? Try to make sure they sent ya the wrong part first, that'll make swapping it less hassle.

if you go to Footlocker and buy some shoes; then get home and they don't fit right. Do you take a knife and cut it up untill it fits; then take it back to footlocker and tell them you want your money back because the shoe don't look so good now?
If you had just called them; they would have deffinitely did everything possible to correct the situation. Next time don't be in such a hurry to put on your new goodies.

I bought a cat relacement pipe and it also fit like a glove. They were veynice and a pleasure to deal with and i would not hesitate ti buy from them again or recomend them to anyone. Sounds like you should have used their technical help before you started to hack away. I had some questions on my install and they walked me right through no problem. (had to do with plumbing with cats removed, actuator hose)

Hey pal, I think you shot yourself in the foot. You should have called RX7.com to verify the p/n when you first noticed the fitment problem rather than trying to make it fit. Last fall, I put a Bonez Superflow cat in my 90 RX7 w/ 5-speed and it fit perfectly. I've dealt with RX7.com on several occasions and have had only good experiences. Hope all works out ok.

Oh yeah: way to go for hacking it up.....if it's made to fit, don't you think that there was something wrong when cutting was involved????? "Way to go Mcfly" They're a pretty cool bunch of guys. Don't come out like you're the victim

rx7.com A+
I've delt with rx7.com for ALL my aftermarket needs w/ exception of a few things, I've purchased electronics, exhaust, pulleys, brakes... Everything from them, and they are the damn nicest and best place to ever do business with, I just ordered 500 dollars worth of more stuff last week.
They have always answered my questions and processed everythink quickly....

Cool. I just wanted to here people's experiences with RP. Sounds like they are actually great people to work with. Can't imagine what went wrong here.
I wasn't trying to defame them. I've simply been work over one to many time by people trying to sell stuff over the internet and have no concept of quality control and customer service. Perhaps RP simple made a boo boo on my order considering it sounds like everyone else has had good experiences with them.
Regardless, I'm still sending the unit back. Whether they refund me or not, they can keep it. I have no need for it and I don't need another piece of hazardous waste sitting around.
