running rich with ecu errors
Hey guys, My ECU is giving me a pressure sensor error, and also I'm running rich.
I did a search and the two may be related. I just dont know why I would get a pressure sensor error. The code goes away once I reset the ecu but when I fire up the engine, the next time I check codes, I get that pressure sensor error. I'm sure there arent any shorted wires going to it, I went at it with an ohm meter just to be sure.
I also keep getting a fuel pump resistor relay error code. I dont really get why this would throw a code, as the fuel pump works when its supposed to. It may be because I have an inline pump. There are tow leads that go to the fuel pump on an S5 and I had to merge them together to get to the positive terminal on the fuel pump. When you guys throw in an inline pump on an S5 how do you wire it up?
So what could cause this errors to pop up? More specifically the pressure sensor error?

I wouldn't worry about the relay one. you probably just wired the fuel pump up wrong and are getting constant 12v.
are you using the S5 turbo pressure sensor? there are 4 different ones. S4 turbo, N/A, S5 turbo, N/A.
vac line hooked up? maybe look for another one

N/A's have a resistor relay. I know I do, its sitting right by my air filter. As for the pressure sensor its the S5 N/A pressure sensor.
Not sure about what the difference between boost and pressure sensors are, but mine says pressure sensor on it.
Can the pressure sensor cause the car to run rich? What kind of problems does occur when its gone bad?

I'm not sure how they are labeled on the device. but in the FSM I think they are labeled turbo = pressure sensor and N/A = boost sensor (no this doesn't make sense)
so it might be wrong?
so you have to go by the # on it. and find someone who knows what it should be.

WOA are you serious? I will be in limp mode as long as my check engine light is on? The car sure doesnt feel like its in limp mode....
Are you sure? I thought limp mode was the engine locking down, nto being able to rev past 3k... I can rev way past that.
Oh and Scott, I checked the FSM, and from what Ican tell, on the N/A S5 it is a pressure sensor, but on the S4 its a boost sensor. But I checked my codes again, one is labeled as pressure sensor.
Again but is this true about limp mode? Those are the only two errors, fuel pump resistor relay and pressure sensor. They can throw the car into limp mode?

no only OMP will put it into limp mode
ok maybe the pressure thing is different.
the only way to know for sure is the # on it.
but weither it's right or wrong. I'd try to find another one. asuming this on is pluged in and has a vac line going to it.

I just checked the number, and theres something VERY interesting.
The pressure sensor says "N350" on it, and below that it says pressure sensor. Now my ecu is a "N351" Could there be some sort of incompadibility here? These parts are supposed to be from an 89 BTW.

Haven't we ALL heard this

I dunno scott. When I was having the feedback error on my 91 TII (Shorting 02 sensor wire) as soon as the check engine light came on the car ran crappy.

still, does anyone know about the relation of my ecu and pressure sensor. It seems like a n350 part mixed with a n351 part would cause problems or not behave right.
