It won't hurt the engine unless you're mixing FAR too much in there. It also won't lower the octane any considerable amount. If you still have an OMP, the suggested mix rate seems to be about 1 oz of premix to 3 gal of gas.

It wouldn't be bad, but it would extend the breakin period somewhat. Remember that during that period the seals bed into the housings and wear to the point where they being to seal against the irregularities in that particular housing. More lubrication above and beyond what the metering oil pump supplies will lengthen that bedding-in process.
