Rubber nub on S5 Pulse-dampner

So I bought a lightly-used set of fuel rails and injectors, and they just arrived in the mail. I was examining the PD just to check it's condition and noticed that a little rubber tip fell out of a hole in the top of the PD housing. Is this critical, or should I just plug the hole with epoxy? I tried orally pressurizing the rail and it seems like air isn't leaking from the hole.

Sorry for the crappy pics, a cell-phone was all that was available.

Epoxy won't hold. It SHOULD be fine, but I would pressurize the fuel rail/PD with the fuel system and let it run the fuel pump run for 10minutes and make sure it doesn't leak.

I assure you that they are S5 NA fuel rails. Here's a picture of both rails.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think the part in question is on the end of the primary rail that looks like a pulsation damper. The pulsation damper is located on the secondaries and has the vacuum nipple.

That would be the FPR on the secondary rails.

oh yeah, duh. Sorry it's been a long day.

Does anyone know the rubber nipple on the end of the pulsation damper's function?
