Rpm gauge help

i was wondering if anyone knew how to fix the stock rpm gauge on a 88tii when its reading wrong. i will never read below 1k even when my pfc is reading 850rpm. Is it just the grounding or something else?

The tach is driven by the trailing coil, so I suspect that there is not an issue with the tach, but with how the PFC is driving the trailing. I don't know much about the PFC, so maybe ask in the PFC forum? Maybe it's running fixed trailing or something crazy...

The tach is controlled directly from the RPM signal wire on the PFC, it is not driven by the coils at all when a PFC is installed.

If I understand you correctly, your tach reads correctly with exception to when the RPMs are below 1000? Even if it is off all the time, the problem is going to be the tach itself. It should read just whatever RPM that is on the commander. Try swapping the gauge cluster as a quick test, if you have another available to you.

Look in your engine bay and see if the Condensor is missing or not bolted down, should be mounted near/under the trailing coil.
