I know that there are bushings in the 2nd gen shifter that are only available in the 3rd gen parts microfiche.

that mystery slotted bushing was for the 3rd gen and is not listed in the 2nd gen parts books.

however you MUST have it to replace the shifter because it breaks really easlilly.

Yep, the 3rd gen shift lever bolts right into an FC - had a buddy who did it. No real advantage, though.

what is tehe throw for a FD shifter, because I know on a s4 FC its like 6.5", so if it is shorter it may be to some advantage.

This bothers me.

There will come a time when i have the cash and want to install an ikeya formula sequential shifter in my car.

I like useless fun toys like that.

They dont make them for the "FC" or "do they"..................???????

Have you ever used the FD B&M shifter? The throws are sooo short that it is easy to miss shift. It is way shorter than my old Mazdatrix shifter. The B&M gets the job done but it is not easy to drive. It's more hardcore than you really need.
