royal purple oil?....pros can con?
royal purple oil?....pros can con?
yea ive heard royal purple oil can increase hp in ur car....is this true?...ive been to the site and have seen wut they had to say...has any1 here used royal purple in their 7...i wanna know..
Even if they have dyno numbers, I never trust any claim that says OIL will increase HP. If it does it will be a piddly amount, I mean, come one, oil??? With that thinking I will replace my gear and diff oil with something that transmits the power down better and gain more efficiency

Racing beat reccomends royal purple for rotaries, and i trust they know what they are talking about. There was a post a while back that had numbers on the residue (sp?) left after different oils were burned, and royal purple burned cleaner than even castrol GTX. Im pretty sure icemark was the one that posted the charts. O'Reilly actually started selling it recently, but its $6.50 a quart there. I found it for at the most $4.00 somewhere online. The guy I bought the car from said that when he tried it for an oil change, it ran noticably smoother than normal.

please do not post things that are not true. i bet you read that somewhere on the forum and have been preaching it with no real facts backing it up.
synthetics work fine in rotaries, but are not worth the extra money over conventional oil.

And here I go again on my own
Going down the only road I’ve ever known,
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone
And I’ve made up my mind
I ain’t wasting no more time...

warning to all reading this thread...
I'll (or another mod) will lock this thread if it starts being a post ***** thread for people that don't have a clue and claim that you can not use Royal Purple because it is a synth.

i have been using royal purple for a couple years now.. in 3 different rx7's never once had issues due to oils only advantages at least in my head.... I do use amsoil 1:100... .. > in my tII's i use either 20w50 or the racing51 in the n/a i run 10w30or the racing equv... i have torn down a motor that ran atleast 30,000hard boosted miles none of which had issues due to oil.... yes i choose to pay the price, but hey, I also pay the price for owning rx7's..... there is a couple things i have learned about owning rx7's. the 1st is preventative maintance and the 2nd is cheaper is not always the better way.... these car were bread to race so treat it that way...
