If you use the proper, recommended fluid, you're getting better protection.
In most cases, the transmission shifts smoother.

Yes, people I think Royal Purple is fairly common.

That's what I have in my 7.

I personally use Redline, but I hear royal purple is just about as good an probably easier to find in local stores. I haven't heard much about AMSoil's stuff, but if its anything like their motor oils I'm sure its good.

Royal Purple is suppose to just as good as redline for diff and tranny fluid. Remember to use the correct fluid

Here is the factory service manual. it answers all of these types of questions.

Take a look under the "manual transmission" section.

Thats bogus. There are people with grinding trannys and they switch to redline or rp (both synth) tranny fluid and the grind either goes away or gets better.
Also, I believe you use RP 75-90 in both tranny and rear end. If you have a lsd, get the one with the lsd additive in it (max gear, I think)

thanks for the help but im just thinking about changing it because i dont know if they ever change it before when i bought it and now it says 84225 miles on it but i dont think its correct because its hard to believe that a 20 years old car would have that less mileage on it.
