rotor wont come off.

I'm trying to change my brake rotors because the ones on my car are 30 thousanths to thin

however, I can't get this rotor off. I've tried using liquid wrench, prying with screwdriver, and hitting with rubber mallet, but It just won't even budge.

anyone have any suggestions??

Assuming you've removed the screw, and removed the caliper (sorry), bust out a bigger hammer. I hit one side, then the opposite side, working the rotor off.

Alternately, get a propane torch and heat up the rotor hat, but be careful of the grease in the hub, you might get a small fire start if you aren't careful

sure, that might help, set it on it's highest heat, and move it closely around the hat area.

take it to a machine shop and have them press it out like nappa or something. You dont want to ruin that hub they are very pricey

i think there is two holes in the rotor that are meant for this.

alls you have to do is get some bolts and screw them in there. viola your rotor just pops right off.

try this before you go hammering away. thats actually what there there for.

Buy a deadblow hammer. 1-2lbs will be sufficient and give it a couple of good whacks from the back side moving around the rotor. Don't use a regular steel hammer, it will just bounce.
