That's brutal. Well, if you ever order rotors from me, you will be pleasently surprised that the rotors themselves are packed in plastic bags, and then Mono foam is used to secure them in the box. It's a bitch to unpack, but so far eccentrics, rotors, housings, etc. have NEVER been damged when I have shipped this way.

you didnt use onna those in my engine did ya as punishment
No, I put those 9.7 rotors in like I told you.

Kevin also told me that my rotor i bought had been shipped shitty as hell also and was surprised nothing had been damaged.
At least yours was in a rotorhousing, which afforded it a degree of protection. The sides were scuffed a little, and one tip was bent just a hair, but nothing a little filing didnt take good care of.

Kevin, I really appericate that instead of going insane and saying "DON"T EVER BUY FROM THIS GUY or I WAS RIPPED OFF"
I hate that ****, and will only do so under extreme circumstances. Such as 2 months ago when rpmcomputers (Richmond Abalos, New Orleans LA) sold me a core block and 2 rotors and rotorhousings and then disappeared...paypal found him at fault but couldnt collect any funds, so I'm in the ******* on that one too. Only then did I post a buyer beware thread in the feedback section, but not before he screwed 2-3 more people on teamfc3s.

You instead provide us with a good example of a bad rotor and what you have to deal with. Your professionalism is hope that people are not out there to just make money but to make the community aware, smarter, and thankful
Well, that's what its all about. Just like that last thread I put up about pineapple sleeve problems...I took a lot of **** for posting that, but it was information that needed to get out, which hadnt previously.

BTW: Kevin when is the gallery going to be up on your site?
You'll have to ask rxse7en about that, he is the webpage maintenance man

You'd think if you bought the rotors from somebody who had most likely owned a 7, they would've had the common knowledge of knowing how fragile rotors are?
Even most 7 owners have never closely examined or worked with a rotor, and they assume since theyre a heavy brick feeling chunk of metal, they must be really hard to damage. In truth because theyre totally hollow and all these seal grooves are cut out into them, they are very sensitive. Just sitting one down on a concrete floor can damage them.

Kev's the silent type.
Some of the n00b's on this board might disagree, but in person, yes, I prefer to be non-confrontational.

chewing up all those that have done him harm.
I really need to make a trip down to LA...there are 2 unsavory individuals who have done me VERY wrongly, and a face-to-face would be nice. Other than that, I usually let petty bullshit go, dont have time to worry with it.

You still need cores Kevin?
Always. I like to find people that have 2+ so I can save on shipping, but Ill buy anything, even if it's just for a little bit of money. You get the satisfaction of knowing you're helping out a nice fellow such as myself, and helping to perpetuate the growth of the 7 community, by giving them to me very cheap

sound more like a virus to me
Okay there, "agent smith"...

There is a guy around here who has an engine who wants to get rid of it. I don't know if its blown but its seen the sun more than I have this summer.
The bad thing about buying cores is that you have no clue what you're actually buying. Sometimes you get one that is in mint condition, with all parts useable, sometimes you get one with the regular blown rotor and housing, and sometimes you get one that got overheated and abused, or was left to sit outside, and every part in it is rusted up and useless. Ones that are left to sit outside usually rust up ion 3 months' time. This makes the rotors, usually the irons, and sometimes even the rotorhousings useless.

Too bad there isnt a way I could buy them, open them up for inspection, and THEN pay based upon what is useful inside. As it stands, 1 out of 3 cores I get is pure junk, a waste of money, shipping, and time. BUt then sometimes you get a pleasant surprise...

Goddamn shipping companies.
No ****. HEre i send about 20-30 packages PER WEEK via UPS, probably $1000 per month worth. OF those, roughly 5-10% get broken in shipping. I'm not the best at packaging, and some odd things are hard to package like doorpanels, seats, transmissions, etc., but I do pretty well dependent on the item and destination. What REALLY pisses me off is when something gets damaged, and UPS wants to give me **** over the insurance claim. You'd think with all the damned money I give them, they would see that it is in their best interest to just approve my claim and go on, but no, they have to throw a wrench in the gears...

but how much would you be willing to sell those dead cores?
I always have a TON of bad rotors and rotorhousings on hand. I used to clean them, paint them, and make rotor clock/displays out of them which were cool as hell. Then some jackass bought one on ebay and came here complaining that it wasnt up to his standards for a $20 item, so I said **** it and quit putting my time into it. So now, I either give them away or throw them away. You can have some for $5 each plus cost of shipping. I just gave away about 15 to some guys who were here picking up an engine.

Usually with those guys they are address skippers anyway. Keep the faith and keep up the good work!

But if you need a hand on a road trip . . . .

Yes all that stuff made it fine, though the printer box was a bit worse for the wear

Just in time too...I just got a 91 t2 that needs a rebuild, and prior to this I had NO s5 t2 parts. So, at least I can get this thing on the road...the engine that was in it was severely overheated and allowed to sit and rust; all 3 irons had water jacket channels broken, both rotorhousings had broken exhaust studs, and both rotors were rusted solid, so there were no useable parts in that one. Glad I got this stuff. Hope we got yours straight, too. If not, I dunno what else to do.

sell the car and buy a mustang! err wait no way

Glad all went well.. yea that printer box had some weight in it. I'm just glad that rotor made it oke. I figured if it was in it's own box padded then inside another it should be oke.

Sorry i never got that dowel out of the front iron.. but to be honest my motivational factors were lacking so I was like it fits in the box.. it's good to go

Surprisingly the car seems to run better then it did before.. I haven't got alot of miles on it due to the temperature and my work schedule.. It seems to be a happier RX-7 just because it's being driven thanks agian for the help! btw R&L is sending me a check for 60 bills due to the screwed up pickup/delivery charges.

Ok, I'll try to get a pallete and get it weighed/see how much shipping will be and such and if it's not too bad we'll make a deal or something. One less thing taking up space

Better yet, how about a deal for that TII hood that needs some TLC?

Core (front cover/oil pump/oil pan/rotors/housings/e-shaft) for the hood, and then we'll have to cover shipping for each? You know you want to get that ugly thing out of your sight, come on, you know you want to!

This thread has kind of gotten off track. Is the solution only to use green loc-tite? to me it seems that we need to hear from others who have the sleeves in place and have had no issues using the green. Also, has anyone used other methods to attach the inserts?

The sleeves seem like a good mod. I just do not want to puke a rotor or risk it.

Has anyone used new sleeves with the inserts? is this a better option?

This thread was not about PR sleeves. Search for posts by me in the last 3 months and youll find the original, lengthy PR sleeve thread.

This thread was about improperly shipped rotors.

FWIW, importboi never gave me any kind of compensation for the fucked up rotors. Was doing a search for some old posts of mine and ran across this one, and remembered how much it sucks to have lost my money in this deal.

Still no job, huh importboi?

This should be taken up in Good Guy/Bad Guy, not the 2nd gen tech section. Thread left open so others may comment, but this issue with importboi is not to be discussed here. Thanks.

Having shipped alot of stuff UPS, I can say that "insurance" mostly just covers a lost package. I once shipped a 1" swaybar (in a box) and it got bent. "Insurance" didn't cover it because it wasn't double boxed with 3" of padding in each box. They must have run over it with a truck to bend this thing.

I used to work for USPS, you'd be amazed the damage and careless handling that occurs. Please for your own sake everyone, package well
