rotary exhaust ar. turbo size

so i am wanting to change my turbo. I currently have a t04b with a 1.00 exhaust. its a cheap ebay turbo but hasn't let me down yet. Im wondering what is the smallest exhaust side i can run like ar. wise. The 1.00 is nice it just take a while to get full boost is .68 or maybe even a .84 to small for a 13b. i have a real hks 50mm wastegate if i were to go smaller would the 50mm help releave some stress on the manifold an motor. let me know please

Depends on your manifold. Do you have a cheap crappy eBay manifold to go along with your turbo? If you do, then its not divided. 1.0 A/R is pretty optimal for a mid sized turbo, but you didn't say which compressor trim you have. If you have a non-divded manifold and plan on running up to 15 psi of boost then the .81 open valute/non-divided will work good. If you have a divided manifold then go for a matching divided .84 A/R turbine. If your running low boost pressures and NEVER plan on going over 10 ~ 12 psi then the .68 nondivided and a .7 divided are feasable. Personally I'd stick to the .81 or .84.

Spool up time also has A TON TO DO WITH YOUR EXHAUST system. Are you running a full 3" or bigger exhaust with free flowing mufflers?

my manifold is a custom made manifold outa 2.25" mandrel bent me an my buddy made cause the ebay kept cracking. my ar for my intake right now is a 60 i would like to do something like a ar70 an a ar 81 like you said. but right now on the ebay turbo i am boosting 11psi an i dont have much problem with it just the fact its a ebay turbo you know. the manifold is a non divided but the turbo is divided.

2.25" turbo runners will hurt spool, and aren't necessary on a midframe turbo. Try a 3.5" turbo back. .60 compressor trim doesn't tell us anything about the compressor wheel. Stick with the 1.0. Engine condition has a lot to do with the heat energy available to drive the turbine wheel.

@ what RPM do you see 1 bar of boost in 4th gear?

im not running a full bar im only running 10psi on bar is like 14.7psi or some poop like that lol.. But yea i found out the 2.25 is to big so we re did it an went with 2" its still big but its a log type mani not a tubular one. If that makes sense i dont much care about it now cause i just rebuilt the motor with a hbp motor an stuff so ill see how this does

This to4b?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDMS-...ht_4008wt_1010

How many miles on it and what rpm are you reaching full boost at?

Considering one of these or a fat shaft t70. Alot of guys on the forum (that wont openly post their setups to keep the b/s chatter down) have ran ebay t70's for over a year without issue. There are a couple mkIII supras running the same turbo.

You've got a half bridge and you're having trouble spooling it or are you just looking to switch because it's ebay? having a hard time figuring out what you're trying to do.

Is this a 6 port turbo?

And if you're looking for less weight on the mani, make a brace that bolts to the mani/turbine flange and to the block somewhere. Some sort of triangular brace. I dont know why more people dont do this......whether you have a baller full race, cheap *** ebay or home built out of schedule 40 bo's and straights....... Then again, a sched 40 manifold would be super tough to crack which is why i'm making mine out of it. Heavy but strong! And nope, not looking to put an ebay turbo on my car considering $300-500 can get me a used garret/precision t04b/t04s.
