Yeah... bad tuning is definitely the case when the engine is completely stock.... Umm, I don't think so.

Again, how can you state this is a tuning-only problem when replacing only the apex seals with stock Mazda apex seals, keeping the same tune, completely solves the problem?

3000 miles on an engine isn't all that much. Report back when you've got some more miles on the thing.

So do OEM seals. What's your point?

Yean they bend.... and my first batch stayed bent all by themselves..
They also cost me 2 rotors from wearing the rotor groove very quickly..
Did the same person tune your car with both sets of seals, probably not, we all know you outsourced your 500 run for the tune, if you had done that with the oem seals you probably be humping them to...

Well I wouldn't call pig rich good tuning.

But I'm just playing devil's advocate. I agree with scathcart, at least to the point where I'd rather use Mazda's seals for peace of mind. I have heard much more good things about RA seals than bad, but at this point maybe it just makes more sense to spend a little extra money if you're worried?

I have never had the ra seals go, and I pushed them alot harder than the oem seals, and I droped 2 of them in the rear. I have had the ra seals get pinged a few times and nothing. compression droped a lil, but I think it was from either a corner seal or side.

What I like about the Ra seals, is that you pay less and actually get a benefit from it.. I know that the mazda seals are proven, but I think that the RA are gunna be right up there in a few years..

in my 13b rew motor I have over 5,000 miles of abusive driving on them. curently I am boosting 13psi on them, and i have yet to have any kind of starting problem or any other problem from them. for the money I think I have definatly already got my fun out of them.

nice! I know I'm going to be boosting quite a bit with my motor so hopefully these seals will be good for that. Anyone with some long term good stories about them?
