rolling/stretching/pulling fenders...
or what ever you like to call it. how do you do it? I have some very wide MT drag radials with weld pro star rims that fit very nicely. But under any acceleration they rub. If i tried to launch the car, it would eat these tires up. I need about 1.5" to 2" wider. this is a drag car, so no widebody basura here...
anyone here rolled/stretched/pulled there own fenders? have a link on how to do it step by step?

Basically, get a baseball bat and a heat gun. Heat up the fender so you don't mess up the paint. Jack the car up, put the bat in the fender between the tire and the fender. Put the car back on the ground and roll the bat back and forth while using the heat gun. The effect your going for is to roll that lip just inside the fender completely flat against the fender (starts out pointing toward the car) while pulling the fender lip as a whole toward you. Don't push too hard on the bat or you'll get a crease. Just work your way back and forth until it seems good, go out and test it, lather, rinse, repeat.
I don't know if it helps much since my rear is kinda high, but it use to rub all the time and I actually popped a tire before I got around to fixing it. Heres how it looks now. It only rubs under hard turning. You can see the line on the tread. It's fine the rest of the way up.

i tryed rolling with a bat already. i did this on my other car and worked fine. but with drag tires, they are much softer with a lot more side wall. so when the weight of the car sits on the bat, the tire just squishes down... i have rolled fenders before using bats and thick metal bars/tubing. but i was looking for another way.
like maybe hammer and dolly or cut/pull/weld how-to's...

Well they also have a tool you can use to do it. I don't know of any local places off the top of my head that have one and their pretty expensive to buy. This is what it looks like.

^Tool above is what your looking for. I remember not too long ago on nicoclub.com someone was renting these out, i think they were asking $150 deposit + $50 for using it, you get the $150 back when you ship it back to them. I guess search on their forum and look for the guy. This tool will ONLY ROLL fenders. You cannot "pull" the fender with this tool, you would use the bat/pipe method for this. If you can't find the tool, get to work with a hammer, be careful.

thats the eastbear fender roller and it pulls fenders just fine. my friend pulled his fenders over 2" with one and i got about 1.5" before i said screw it and just put on wide fenders. you can always put on some other wheels with harder rubber to use the baseball bat, or you can hammer & dolley it to submission. neither way is very hard.

its an eastwood garage roller. and they are about 270 new. they are pretty simple to make also with some thinking. I didnt think this would pull the fender out at all. you have any pics of the roll you did with i t?
