Rigged Rx-7??

I just pulled off my intake manifold to the other day to make it easy to pull the engine out the Turbo II and I notice that my two primary injectors are different colors. Does this mean anything? I havn't pulled this engine apart yet until now, so I never noticed it until now.

I've been having a lot of fuel issues with this Turbo II. Tons of hesitation... plus it's a 88 Turbo II with its stock m333 ECU. I heard that the m333 was bad at dealing with injectors any different from stock, but that the m332 could deal with it. Is this true?

I am running a stock turbo/tmic with an average amount of mods at 8lbs of boost. The fuel system is running a walbro 255lph fuel pump and an HKS FCD.

EDIT:::

I am awaiting to install a FMIC, t04s 60-1, tubular exhaust manifold, dual belt set-up, lightweight flywheel, stage 3 clutch, 50mm wastegate, & a hks f-con.
Can you tell em anything else I would need to make this new set-up run well? Some stuff you may list, I may already have... but right now I have a headache and don't feel like thinking of it all.

What colors are the injectors? Different colors may indicate different size injectors, but not necessarily. The colors can fade and change over time, so using colors to determine flow rate is pretty much useless.

If the injectors are stock you may be able to tell by the location of the guide pins for the injector plugs. Or you can always have them cleaned and flow tested, which is never a bad idea.

But as I said, be careful using colors to ID injectors because they fade and/or change colors due to engine heat. For example, I have heard that the purple injectors can fade to a brown or tan color over time.

Yea if the numbers do not match, then you defenitly have different injectors. Whether they are of a different size, we don't know, different impedence? possible, who the **** knows.

Personally, I'd take the other injector out that doesn't refer to what you should have on the resurrection website, and buy a used one from the boards.

So you can either buy a matched pair (which is what I recommend), or you can wire in resistors on the one injector.

Just one injector is low as you stated above? Just one of the four? Which one, primary or secondary?

just add a proper resistor to the odd injector, its way cheaper than a new one. If you have the money, buy a new injector and get them all cleaned.

thats funny as hell. I'd get a matched set of these injectors. I have a 550cc laying around if you want I will sell it to you for cheap, say 20 bucks plus shipping? This one came of an 88tII with an n333 ecu.

If you know it works, then sold. It is purple, right?

The reason I asked is, the possibility that the driver in the ECU has fried or pulled too much current if you will. If it had been a secondary I'd say go for a ride with a meter connected to the back of that secondary wire at the ECU and monitor the voltage while dirving. If when you had a load on the engine and were over 3500, the voltage did not drop dramatically from battery/alternator voltage, then I'd say the driver was kaput in the ECU. That would require a new ECU and a resistor could be put in line with the odd ball injector to prevent the new ECU from frying.
