Rewiring NA S4 Dash harness to S5 TII Engine harness PICS

I am currently swapping an S5 TII into my 88 GXL and so far the wiring is totally different so here is my jap S5 TII harness i am cutting and rewiring into american S4 NA dash harness plugs

Here is the N326 plugged into the dash harness

Note* I also have the n374 ECU plugged into the 2 inputs on the jap harness

Here is where my dash plugs will plug into after i rewire them in the N374 Harness

Will this work???? i have not a clue but I am going to try.

Series five wiring is here: http://www.whoistouching.us/rx7/s5wiring/

Series four wiring is here: http://www.cochran-racing.com/FSM/s4...NG_DIAGRAM.pdf

Your trying to mate the Front harness with the Emissions harness.

Not for a JSPEC EM harness. At least I don't think so. The reason I say that is because it's been established on this forum that the JSPEC EM harness is a right hand drive car and the WIPERS wiring is not in that EM harness.

Those wiring diagrams are for only USA versions. BUT, on a recent thread a fellow gave another RX owner the Japanese version of the series five wiring schematics. You might look for that thread. It was only this last week or so.

No, there are none there. Look at the 86-88 manual and go to the very bottom where you see ..........23.Wiring. Click on it. Those are wiring diagrams showing the connections b/t various items plus the wire colors of the individual wires. Those chapters you cited do not do that.

An example: The fellow who started this thread wanted to match the wires b/t the two plugs that have a reference designator FEM-01 and FEM-02. FEM meaning FRONT TO EMISSIONS.

If one looks at the series five WIRING diagrams he can find the pinouts for these two plugs, FEM-01 and FEM-02 and compare them to the same plugs in the series FOUR wiring diagrams. Then he can repin his connectors so the ECU will work.

Ain't no FEM-01 or FEM-02 in the chapters you cited.

Like I said before, I do like that site and have bookmarked it.

Wiring diagrams like these for the series four: http://www.rx7city.com/Manuals/88%20.../23_WIRING.pdf

Its a waist of time. And when you do finish its a never ending problem. I would just use the S4 Na harness and install onto your TII block. Change the S5 front cover to a S4 front cover to manually use the OMP. The rest will fit with no problem.

If your stressed out and have to just start the engine withing thirty days to see if the thing will run/idle, just connect the original na EM harness to the engine and use the n/a ECU, afm, pressure sensor etc.

IN other words chunk the series five electronics and WIRING (EM harness) and just start the engine. If it won't run, return it.

Whether series four, series five, turbo or non turbo, they all has the same coils assy's, four injectors, a afm, a pressure sensor, water thermo sensor and they're alll in the same place. The engine should start and idle and be driveable without boost.

Use the series four ECU, pressure sensor, afm together as a unit. All the same.

After it runs, then go back and do that rewiring from series four to series five, at your leisure.

Post a jpg of one of the japanese diagrams, if you will. Just one page will do. The page that has the injectors etc. That should be easy to distinguish from the others.
