Rewiring Fog Lights?

Ummmm.... Someone mentioned there was a way to rewire the stock fog lights to accomidate a h3 bulb instead of the older h1 bulbs. Unless someone knows exactly the h1 bolbs watts cause I don't and I don't want to blow them and purhaps where I can get my hands on a set of them.
