yep there are beams going down the sides that will be thicker metal we just have to get the hinges bent today thats why they arent in and glassed yet.....and yes it does make the front end look a lil beefier....and i like that look.....also keep in mind astrchild's car is jacked up in front because there is no motor in the car so the suspension sits up in front with no weight on it

bodywork.....and we didnt have any pva from the master and since i went thru so much hell gettin git off of the master i didnt want to repeat the nightmare.....thats why this one is still rough and needed sanding because of the mold.....so we are making a fresh mold from this and using the old one as a backing.....what u see is still a rough product.....with some shitty paint....when we pul the next one out it wont really require much for us to do to it......and it would prbably take a day whereas this thing took two weeks.....the first off is always the ugliest and the roughest and its what u learn from....and we just got the other metal supports for the sides and the hinges finally so we are throwing them in as we speak and after that we are stripping all of that ugly *** paint off it and putting it on my car and driving it around and gonna take some more pics then shipping it to the customer.......

If you're open to input, then I'd like to propose an idea...
Is there any way you can make the corners "ramp" in front of the vent a little more square? To flow with the car more... if you need a picture, I can TRY and edit one of yours... the roundness of the corners doesn't fit the lines of the car too well.

That's still nice work - nicer than some of the other stuff I've seen offered in here.  Pat yourself on the back!
I would really like to know the actual weight of the unit, with all bracing, latch, and hinges installed - just like if you were to bolt the unit in.  The stock aluminum hood weighs under 30#, so if it's not significantly under that weight, I wouldn't be interested.  Under 20# would be nice - under 15# would be great!

i know exactly what you are talking about....i was going to do that but i thought it wouldnt flow the air as effeciently.......and when u se it in person its a bit of a different story.....but its gonna stay the way it is and ill try to give you an idea of what the scoop would look like for the ram air....i had something like a miniature t2 scop in mind......ill find a pic....

yes i think it will be considerably lighter but like i said this hood is rough compared to what its going to be when we get fresh ones coming out of the mold....so i can get a rough estimate on the weight.....so it looks okay but the pics were shitty so some more on the way....and il get shiping quotes for the bay area

A ram air scoop on the top of the FC nose would need a broad, blunt face to get positive air pressure relative to ambient. The top of the FC nose is submerged in low pressure airflow.

thanks RETed for your post i wish you could see this hood in person so you can tell everyone the quality... i'm a little picky about the quality that i'm producing.. these hoods should weigh around 15-20lbs depending on cloth and season of resin... but if you "RETed" would like one i'm sure i can get it pretty light. i'm looking at sourcing a stronger/lighter grade of aluminum, but that will bring a premium etc....
thanks to all of you and your support..
