aight guys here we go......we finished the hood about 95 percent done...all that is waitin gis the underside bracing with the break for the hinges and we are having a metal shop in town do it for us so we have it all arranged......we also had to pull out imperfections on the surface when I screwed up the mold so we are making another mold off of this one so we actually had to wetsand it a bit to get it perfect.......and still have some pinholes and the like that need to be taken care of...so we hit the learning curve with this one and some experimenting so kep in mind what you are looking at is much more rough than what will be coming out from here on out......we had to sand this one past the gel coat and we $2 rattle canned it black in three minutes so we could match it with the car to take pics to give you guys an idea of what i looks like on a somewhat modded car with a similar color.......so just keep in mind what you are looking at is still rough compared to what another finished product will look like......

and another of me holding the hood....and its pretty light...once we have anothe out of the mold that wont be as rough it will weigh even less.....then we will wiegh them.......right now for the people that get on it first price is 450.....and they are available now....someone has already purchased the irst one and it will be out the door soon and we finally made a deal with a sheetmetal company to take care of the hinges....

no its not including shipping.....shipping is another issue and depends on where you are at.....the only problem with shipping these is not the weight but the size.......

and yet another......keep in mind that its still pretty rough with the paint.....in some spots it shines and in some it doesnt.......so there is nothing wrong with the surface....if you look at them wrong they look like flat spots.....just a difference in the crap paint

it looks like it doesn't quite line up w/ the passenger headlight... is it just the angle? or the fitment?

no none of it lines up exactly because there is nothing underneath it for it to sit on.......the side supports that are suppsed to be for the hinges still arent in yet and the pedastals that the stock hood sits on wont reach obviously and we had cigarette packs underneath holding them up in certain spots simulating where it would be when we put the stops underneath to hold them up but we had at one point had them all underneath there and it looked sick.....actually fit better than stock......meaning there is less gap actualy...i forgot to mention that im glad you brought it up......Jody's roomates only smoke so much lol and we couldnt source any more packs to put underneath where the stops were so thats why it sags a lil right there...but otherwise when we have them on it looks SWEET......so when we have the full underbody on it will actually have one inch thick rubber stoppers on the other side alowing it perfect height.....

...or you could just throw some hoodpins on it, and ditch the weight of the hood latches, etc...

...always after the most function possible...

yeah....i know what you are talking about there.....also notice we left some extra on the ends in the back to get a perfect shape and it actually comes up over the fenders .....cuz it isnt latched in....we just threw it on top of the car cuz there is no hood on that car anyhow....Jody pulled his motor out....its why the front suspension sits so high and on the other pics you can see the shroud laying around...we just threw it on their for a rough idea....so no its not even attatched to the car yet and all of the weight is on the front where it there is no undersupport to touch the stops where the stock hood would rest.......so in the pic its sags a lil there.....but when the full undersupports and stoppers are in place it will sit perfect especially with the hood pins across the frame in front of the radiator coming up it will have a perfect spot to rest on so there wont be any flex at all.....we have done it once and we were actually suprised at how tight the fitment was.....so good eye and im sorry i forgot to mention and im glad you caught it before i looked like a REAL ***...thanx

and here is the underside keep in mind its still pretty rough...and that every other one that comes out we are going to embed the aluminum after the first layer and glass over it rather than on top of the last layer like you are looking at now.....in these pics you can see all of the core mat and the aluminum and all.......so just keep that in mind.....it still looks a lil like rough

WOW, that does make the front end look a lot shorter than it is! That's kinda nice...I knew all it needed was something extra (vent, color, etc.) to make it look different. Looks good so far man...How much do you think it'll be to Delaware zip 19963?

Looks great, how much lighter is that hood than an 89 gtu stock hood?

edit - re-read that you haven't weighed them yet, keep us posted
