Reputable JDM motor retailers?

I need to buy a 13BT. Ive been looking around on teh interwebz for some importers but I would like to research a bit before I lay down a wad of cash.

Im looking at GotJDM.com right now. Its $1600 full swap and they pay shipping. Any other importers are somewhere in the $1800 range and I pay shipping (~$600) on top of that.

Any reccomendations for me as to where to go?
I really appreciate it guys. Thanks.

engine depot. They have a lil red dragon on the main page. I had a friend order a klze from them and the motor is good.

None as far as I know. But plenty of disreputable ones. I dunno, maybe the engines just go bad during storage. Safest bet is to get any engine and just rebuild it, but that's expensive. GL.

For future reference, bumps aren't allowed in the 2nd gen technical sub forum. You'll likely have a mod in here soon wagging his finger at you...

Your best bet for finding an engine that isn't blown is traveling to the importer of your choice yourself. I called tigerjapanese and asked if I could drive up to Toronto and pick out a motor that had good compression. They said it was no problem and after I went through seven blown engines I found one with an acceptable amount of compression. I believe all engine importers have a similar amount of blown engines and the only way you can ensure you don't get boned is to go there yourself.

people like to argue with me on this one but i agree with eric, your chances of getting a rotary motor with good compression from one of these import places is very low, 1 in 4? probably worse than that. for what you pay for one of those BEAT motors+ shipping you can easily do a rebuild yourself,

i noticed you used the word "full swap" that gives me the impression you currently own a n/a FC, if thats the case you'll also need a custom driveshaft, unless you swap to a t2 rearend.

Yes I have the T2 rear end already.
Im looking for a complete swap so I will have all the parts I need instead of trying to peice together a T2 motor.

Ive come to terms that I will have to rebuild it, so I just really need the components bought, so I can have it rebuilt and reassembled.

I got my blown jdm and it was an s5t2 instead of an s4t2. I dont even care because its best to rebuild it anyway. Your best bet is corksport, i dont think they would screw anyone over unlike all the other used rotary engine companys. GL

try the parts for sale section and post a WTB once you've figured out everything you need, or look on craigslist.
