Have a windshield shop do it. This is one thing that is not worth learning. Ome mistake and you trash a good windshield.
Plus a used windshield is already micro-pitted 99.9% of the time, then you end up doing a buch of work for less than perfect results.
Most of the time you can find an installer that will install a new windshiield for less than you can buy it for.
My last one was 185 installed last year

my father professionally installs autoglass for a living. I've installed many many windshields with him. We use PPG and safelite autoglass. Using a used windshield is ok if you want to save money. I would be that changing the window in your Rex is about $185-225. We use a specialized tool to remove the window from its seal. There are tools out there that are hand and available, I'm not sure what they are called. As far as setting the new windshield. Remove all the plastic grille by the wipers before hand. Remove rear view mirror. Remove molding CAREFULY (SAVE) if there is one (cant rem. off top of my head) Cut out the old windown, level off the old urethane with a razor blade. Clean the new windshield, apply the old molding to the replacement window. Using a caulking gun and urethane designed for sealing auto glass is all you need to set it. Run a bead along the old urethane and have the nozzle pointing totally straight so it keeps the urethane and a pointed edge as it is applied. Have a friend or someone else help you set the window, there are usually stops near the botton where the windshield will rest. Place the window on the stops, make sure it is evenlly centered, then press that baby in there nice and tight. Take some heavy duty tape and put it on each upper corner to hold the window up and on the stops. It usually takes about 2 hours total depending on temp. for the urethane to dry. Replace the plastic that surrounds the wipers and any other parts removed. It sounds a lot more easy than it is, I can't explain it really as well as I could show you, I hope I've helped. PM me and I can ask my dad if you need more detailed questions.

we used to charge like $120 at my dad's old shop.
I remember we bought my windshield for $50. Installation wasnt that hard but I dont really remember since it was 2 years ago.
Good luck!
