Replacing the temp/oil in stock gauge cluster?

ahs anybody removed the stock gauges out of the cluster and replaced them with aftermarket ones using the stock back plate?
i was think about doing this to my T2 and swapping the useless stock boost/oil pressure/temp.
i will try and attach a pic of what i am think about doing..
once i get around to photoshopping it.

That looks pretty good but is there enough room behind the cluster for the gauges to fit?I have never taken out the cluster so I wouldnt know.

i will be looking for a guage cluster @ a scrap yard to check and see if i can change the guages out.

do any of the gauges interface to the ECU?
if so are other water temp/oil pressure gauge sensors correct in sending the correct voltage for the correct ecu expectations.
