Replacing altenator belt - anyone have a diagram?
Can anyone tell me the proper routing for the altenator belt on a non turbo'd 88? Possibly a diagram or a simple way to do it?
Thanks in advance

pretty simple, goes on the closest to the engine pulley on the main eccentric shaft pulley, the inner of the two water pump, and up to the alternator. You will probably have to remove your other belts, as the alternator belt needs to be on the inner most, and the other ones are all in the way.

I just changed mine about a week ago. You have to remove the pastic shield under the car and the pastic thing for the fan. It was a pain in the @$$ to get it all off.. Then you just have to take off all the other belts.. just remember which belt goes where. The belt well fit around the fan, so no need to remove the fan.
Go0d luck.

You don't have to remove the underbelly tray. I don't see why you'd have to for any reason at all.
You don't need to remove the fan shroud either - If you have skill getting it around the fan blades.
Only takes a second to slip the shroud off, so you might as well anyways..

True- and I believe there is a sticker on the underside of the hood showing how the belts are routed (at least on my 88 vert) providing it hasn't faded/been painted over.
