replaced wiper relay. still doesnt work.

i replaced the relay and now the wiper blades wont park normally. i have to quickly switch em off while at the bottom of the windshield. and it still doesnt work on hi speed. WTF?

You said relay, not relays! There are TWO for the front wiper. Explain what you did.

should of also done #2. Also #1 if you have a rear wiper as well...

Yes. And the part numbers are written right on top of relay 1 and 2, BUT NOT 3, which is why the guide gave you number for #3. If you don't know the cross reference number, you call digikey.

My car has no rear wiper and so my switch cluster is missing the left-most relay altogether. But now I'm a bit confused with the function of the other two.

So is the middle relay for "park" and the relay furthest to the right for Hi/Lo or vice versa? I have both the park problem and the inoperable Hi speed/Intermittent issue and am about to do this repair.

Well thanks for helping clear that up. I need both relays. I ordered the auto-park relay from Digi-Key yesterday but was able to add the middle relay to the order before it shipped.

Here are the Omron relays I ordered out of Digikey catalog:
(1) Omron #G6C-2114P-US-DC12 , Digikey #Z950-ND ( the auto-park relay)
(1) Omron #G5LE-14-DC12 , Digikey #Z1012-ND ( the low/high or middle relay)

Not sure what happened with the original poster's case but there may be an easy "jumper wire" fix. Check this out:

I looked up the numbers JJCOBM posted and they're essentially the same relays but made by Panasonic. The original relays were rated for 5 amps. The Omrons are both 8 amp and the Panasonics are 8 and 15 respectively. Either brand is a huge improvement over the originals.

I got my relays today from Digikey. Soldered them on the board and switch works like new. I ordered Omron replacements because I didn't know about the Panasonics. But even the new Omrons are sealed and since the originals lasted about 130k miles I figure these will last until the rest of the car falls apart ha ha..

I was so stoked I fixed something I pulled my idiot light cluster and resoldered the connector. The clock now works for the first time in 20 years!
