this is on a 88 SE n/a
how do u remove the omp? what do u need to block off? and what are the ups and downs of removal?

also if i removed the acv what size resistors do i need in the wires? also if i remove the frist 3 solenoids of the 4 on the drivers side what size solenoid should i use??

take a 12mm (i think..) socket to it, and turn.

You need to block off the hole that is left in your block.. the one that oil will be pouring out of if you don't.. Basically, you can take a sheet of metal, and cut it to approx the right size, make holes for the bolts, and bolt it on.. You should probably use some sort of gasket or sealer, too..

about the acv..which wires are you talking about? There are no wires going into the acv

i'm not sure what you mean by your last question...can you reword it?

there are 4 solenoids on the drivers side of my car, i think thats what they are called, they look like colored wiring harnesses, supposedly i can remove those but i need to put resistors in there place, and i forgot what size resistors i would need

The 2 solenoids on the ACV need a 33 ohm resistor when they are removed. The solenoids on the drivers side each need 47 ohm resistors when theyre removes.

For the OMP, just take it off, and bolt a plate up to it so it doesnt leak oil. Also, put a bolt in place of each of the 4 oil injectors, 2 on the engine, and 2 on the intake manifold. Take the oil injector to the hardware store to find the bolt size.

I know this should go without mention, but I thought I would mention it just in case. If you remove the OMP for good you will have to run pre mix. Ups and downs of running pre mix, it's just less hassel with the OMP, I run the OMP and a little premix just for insurance.

Hm...when I posted that a month or two ago, Hailers said that the computer wouldn't care at all that the solenoids were unplugged.. Tho, this is in my 87.. perhaps it's different for series 5's.

i have a 88 seies 4 n/a so does that mean that i do not have to have resistors in place on them?? tesla what did u do? just leave the wires bare on the 3 so0lenoids u removed??

It will still store coeds in the ECU without the solenoids or resistors, but it wont trigger the check engine light or affect anything as far as I know. I did it just b/c I dont like to do a half-assed job on my car. I also cut the connectors off, and wired the resistors directly into the harness, and then retaped the whole thing. Looks like it came that way.

Yeah...but the car isn't running yet. Still have all the manifolds off.

You CAN try to just unplug the solenoids... If everything works fine, then you obviously don't need the resistance. If it does something funny, plug them in one at a time to isolate which has the problem.
