Removing oil filler tube from iron - how to do ?

Hello,

I am wondering how I can separate the oil filler tube (the black one you pour the oil in) from the intermediate housing.
I need to swap this tube over from a spare motor to my race motor which came without oil filler tube.

This tube seems to be pressed in the intermediate housing.

Any ideas ?

Brgds

Smack it side to side and front to back with a rubber mallet. Take the cap off don't make the same mistake I did. The cap will break.

Thanks Mike,

so it will come loos without having to resort to brute force ? Rubber mallet is fine

Btw, how about the smaller tube beside it (oil level rod) that one is missing too. That one might be hard to grab.

rubber mallet is probably best, you don't want to bend the tube.

for the little dipstick tube, not all engines have it in the first place, so you don't need it, as long as you have the right dipstick
