Removing now unnecessary stuff.

So, I've got to dive back into my intake because I've got a slight vac leak but I was wondering while I was in there what all I could remove and have some down time as I try to figure out my fuel issue, either a rewire or new pump needed. I may also try to squeeze a parallel fuel setup somewhere in there if time/wallet permit.

I've already ditched the ACV/smog pump, A/C, and omp. I'm running MS3X and pretty much just have injectors and spark wired up so, is any of the rat's nest still required? How about egr, evap, or anything else accessible while the intake is off?

I'm just trying to clean everything up and eventually I plan on either depowering or running a manual rack and getting rid of things on that side of the engine bay as well.

Edit: Also, does anybody know the specs on the banjo bolt or even where to get it to delete my fpd, if time/wallet do not allow me to get the parallel setup going?

Well, I've tried searching around here but to the best of my searching and knowledge, the s4 and s5 rat's nests are different and I could only ever find s5 and the guide on RR, excuse my stupidity/ignorance, isn't as simple as the colored s5 diagrams I've been seeing floating around here.

Thanks for the links MMoore, and j9fd3s I don't know why I threw evap in there as anything for mileage I'll probably be keeping.

Using the forum integrated search is hit or miss. that's why I suggested the google method.

Here's the S4 Rotary Resurrection guide. It carries a typo at the beginning but the photos are clearly of an S4 engine.

Rotary Resurrection home of the budget rebuild.

The only caveat is I would keep the bac valve ran with your megasquirt as I have mine, it'll handle idle/warmup/load/etc just fine.

I'm still running the BAC as per either Aaron's or DIY's write-up, don't remember which. It's been a tad warm lately so I haven't been able to get around to doing this yet, 100* weather + whatever the heat index decides on really kills any motivation. Thanks for the google method, I'll try to remember that, or at least come back to this post to jog my memory, next time I try to search for something.

Well, I pulled most of the nest yesterday and finished it up today. I cut the brackets away from the tubing with some side cutters and even cleaned up the ground under there. I didn't have an EGR block off plate so I just capped the nipple on it. Also, I wasn't quite sure if it mattered which line went where on the PCV so the top of it is hooked to the top nipple on the back of the intake and the bottom is on the lower one. Everything else is capped in a rainbow of silicone vac caps and I even removed my AWS solenoid because I happened to have caps large enough for that even.

I must say, it is so much cleaner and spacious under the intake now. So far just idling in the driveway nothing seems any different, which is good. Though, I didn't get my slight vac leak fixed, I'm fine with a 1500rpm idle for now because my new fuel pump is gonna be here soon and she hasn't been driving for almost a month now.
