Removing the a/c and power steering (yes another thread but I've done my research)
The s5 n/a has the 17:1 ratio or 17 something right?
I've never messed with this.
I'm sort of broke so I can't afford to go ahead and buy the manual rack.
I'm doing an engine swap and instead of putting the ac (which I've never used) and the power steering (I want to feel what all the hype is about feeling the road better) back in.
I'm just asking about the ratio because I know the manual steering rack is a 20/something ratio.
I don't mind putting extra effort into steering if it means I'll feel the road better (and build muscle).
My question is if I got the above ratios correct and if there is anything I need to get to block off lines for the a/c or power steering?
Thanks for any help.

Then you HAVEN'T done your research.
There are numerous threads about looping the lines or depowering the rack.
First adn foremost this:

There are no "block off lines" for the AC, you just remove the entire thing.
If you're thorough- and why not?- removing the condenser(?) from the dash will leave three holes in the firewall (inlet, outlet and condensation drain) which are easily filled with rubber body plugs.
About the PS...
I've tried all three ratios and for street driving much prefer the "slow" manual rack to "faster" depowered versions.
YMMV.
If you decide to depower a rack, IMO it's almost useless unless you weld the quill, so if you're broke and can't weld yourself, don't bother.

Everything is starting to run together and redbull is of no help.
Thanks for listing the threads I'll check them out.
I was posting just to make sure that I didn't miss something.
