Umm, to my knowlege you CAN put in a rack and pinion, or just keep it without the pump, right now my pump doens't even work. Or somethin along those lines. I think it's fine, dont worry about it

Make sure that the fluid is equall in both lines, and cap them off. DO NOT DRAIN THE FLUID EMPTY. The rack will lock up and you will wreck!!!

Actually, you loop the two lines together, however you want. The two sides MUST be able to equalize pressure.
Steering effort would be much increased with them just capped off, or a non-working pump.

So what would be the best way to do this? Could I run both lines into a resevoir? That way they would both have the same amount of fluid. There would be no preasure in the lines this way too.......?

Capping off lines is a bad idea when you think about it. There is hydrolic preasure being made inside the rack when you turn the it. That will try to force out any fluid thats in it

When I stripped the threads in my rack *arrgh* I found a non ps rack in the junkyard for $40.

We actually just had a big war in another thread about this...

So, how would one construct a loop? Just use a pice of tube, and connect it all together? I'm gonna do this once I get my TII...
