Your profile says you have a 240SX and your post provides no info on your RX-7 (assuming you actually have one). You won't get proper answers to your questions without providing proper info. What year? What engine? What mods?

Try searching "emissions removal". This has been covered hundreds of times, complete with colourful pictures and step by step instructions. I also believe there is a topic in the archive that goes through the basics.

Keep in mind that you will gain no power doing this, and may lose some drivability.

yeah its a worthwile mod if you dont care about gas mileage and want better throttle response. ive done it. it revs a little faster and i get good throttle response, and less smoke from exhuast and clutter under the hood

Unless something was actually broken, emissions removal does not change fuel consumption and does not improve throttle response.

put your battery behind your seat (a nice optima red top), gut emissions. It's like working on a small block chevy. Everything is in arms reach, no sport compact

It would have been easier to just fix your vaccuum leaks and replace the failing purge valve...
