remote top

Does anyone know how I could install a remote open top on my 88 convertable. It would be so cool to be able to put the top down as I walk up to it.

I was kinda thinking about something like that... Only completely different Lol... At Circuit City they sell an alarm kit that also has remote Lock/Unlock, Engine Start, and Trunk Pop features. I asked my buddy (Who works at their install shop) if there was any way he could wire it differently so that when I pressed the Trunk button, it popped my Gas door instead. He said so long as there was a solenoid attached to the door that he could wire the receiver into, it should work fine. Basically so long as there is an electrical circuit involved in the top-closing process, they should be able to wire into it no problem.

And you would have to work out how to unlatch the header latches, and always make sure you park with the car in neutral and the ebrake up. Otherwise, no dice. And then there is the little problem of getting the targa section to unlatch so it will fold down. This is not the right car to be doing fully automatic top on. Too many complications.

as a vert owner I gotta agree that it just wouldn't be as cool in reality as you are envisioning
