remote oil filter setup

I am building a remote oil filter setup for my car. I have a few questions.

1) Should i run it between the block and the oil cooler or run an adapter off of the stock pedestal location? Ive seen it done both ways but im not sure which is best.

2) Which filter size should i run. I do want to get a larger filter. Any recommendations for a filter? I am looking at a 13/16-16 mount, it should be able to support Fram PH11, PH13, PH18 or PH373 or equivalent.

btw this is the mount: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

3) If i run the system off the stock pedestal would -8 lines be correct? The inlet ports appear to be 3/8" on the pedestal.

Well since the stock Mazda oil filter has 3 times the surface area of the Fram PH11 I am not sure why you would want to downgrade to one of those Frams.

Icemark, thanks for the tip. I copy and pasted the list of filters that would fit from the perma-cool website. There are other filters that will attach. anything wiht a 13/16-16 thread should fit. several other companies make filters that will work. Any recommendations?

It's far easier to use the pedestal adapter then skip the pedestal. Skipping the pedestal requires tapping the block out and installing a fitting.

Use -10. It will present a lower pressure drop.
