Remote oil filter???
Is it possible to install a remote oil filter kit on the Rx7 or does the oil filter HAVE to be in that location to be effective? I know the question sounds stupid however I have NEVER seen an oil filter on TOP of an engine before in my life and honestly that looks WEIRD and must be there for some reason... Any input is helpful! Thanks!

Well... since you still haven't gotten an answer and "any input is helpful", I'll make a guess. As an engineer I can't imagine how the position or even the orientation of the oil filter could make even the slightest bit of difference. Pressure, flow, stresses, etc., etc. will all be exactly the same. Since the system is less than ~20 feet tall, you won't have any cavitation problems either. Though if the oil filter is below the oil pan then oil will come out when you remove the filter.

I 'answered' this question the other day, but apparently it wasn't in before the site crapped out.
Anyway, many filters will still hold quite a bit of oil even after the motor's drained. Not so with the RX-7, it's awesome, and you can pull it off from above the engine bay. Don't screw with that, you'd regret it.
Also, the more piping you add to the system the more oil you'll use, the more places there are for oil to leak, and the more work you'll force the pump to do.
