Cold adjustments for timing and tps
So ive finished my t2 swap and removed emissions, plugged all unused vacuum lines and the motor will start and then die right away, sometimes if you push down the throttle it will stay runnning but once you let off the throttle its gone. I test fuel pressure and fuel pump, volume the fuel pump is alright not great but hanging in there and the pressure is around 40psi, listened to the injuectors and they are clicking, when looking at the dzzy it looks like who ever i bought the motor from messed with it. so i wanted to check timing, and i heard the tps usually goes out of adjustment so i wanted to adjust that. Because of the cold idle cam i know you have to warm up the engine my problem is the engine will not run for long enough to get hot can you do the timing adjustment or tps with the engine cold. also should the tps be adjusted first or the timing?thanks for any help guys.

try adjusting the throttle cable to give yourself a higher idle. you turn the 2 12mm nuts on cable where it attaches to the UIM.
also the BAC valve has a screw on it that adjusts the idle.
I am having something like your problem with my rebuilt engine, only it seems to want to idle way too high. by adjusting the throttle cable and the BAC idle screw (loosen for higher idle) I can adjust the idle while the car is running.
