Reman or rebuild?

Reman or rebuild?
I just tore into my TII engine. It's looking like I'm gonna need too replace all of the side plates because it sat for a long time with a blown water seal. The engine has 107k miles on it.
So would it be better for me to rebuild that engine or just send in the core and get a reman engine?

The side housings aren't rusted, they have a bunch of little blemishes where some of the surface has been eaten away. https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/pitting-my-plates-651509/
The one in that thread is in the best shape of all of them.
And the center and front irons have some water damage at the bottom of them. So it's looking like i'm gonna be spending a lot for those. All 3 irons are gonna be around $1000, a rotor kit is near $1000, gasket kit is $300. If the reman were $2500 + $1000 core charge, wouldn't I be getting a better deal with a reman if they use new housings and everything?
