Pitting on my plates.

I bought a TII that's been sitting for around 8 years and it has some minor pitting on the rear plate.









Those pics are really close up so it makes it look a little worse than if you're just looking at it. And the last pic measures the whole blemish (the worst one), the actual pit on that one is actually about 1mm in diameter.

So is that plate complete trash? Or can it be lapped?

Where are the pits? The one in the middle picture looks fairly deep. If they are anywhere on a sealing surface (combustion area, on the oil seal track, etc.) then the housing is probably junk. Looks like 1MM or more might have to be lapped off to correct it...That's a LOT.

They're on the top of the plate, in the intake/compression area. In the last pic you can kinda get an idea of where it's at. The oil seal track (that's the circular one right?) has a trail of very, very small ones around the top side of it.
