Hmmm, this reminds me of an old adage:

You can have it only 2 of 3 ways: Fast, Cheap, and Reliable

Fast and Cheap isnt Reliable
Fast and Reliable isnt Cheap
Reliable and Cheap isnt Fast

It pretty much depends on how and what you put into it. Your asking a really open-ended question.

My bet would be that something in the tranny or rear end would blow up at 450 hp.

Sounds like a good start. I'd go FMIC if I were you. A large one too. Also, I don't see headers on that list. Just remember, typically the more boost you start putting through the engine, the less life you can expect out of it. You might want to look at 3mm apex seals as well.

He said a custom T04R turbo kit, that would generally include the exhaust manifold. Basically it's as reliable as whoever builds the motor and tunes it, and how well it's maintained in the process. The problem with high output engines is people always push it, risk running on lower octane, or simply don't take care of them. I've seen quite a few high output cars running around 50k on their blocks without any problems, but they're the guys that don't ever push their setup, and always make sure to run the gas it was tuned for, and they generally leave a lot of space on their tuning (ie, not running aggressive timing/fuel/etc)

20+ pounds of boost is excessive. With a properly sized turbo you should make your goal more around the 15-20 range.

I assumed that was plotted somewhere in his plan.

I agree, completley.
I'm an NA guy, I forget about these 'turbo' details sometimes.
