redlining it helps! wow
ok, so my 87 turboii ran pretty smoothly, but today, i redlined it in first for like one minute, and the next time i started it up, it ran (at least it seemed like it) much smoother
i must have burned off some carbon deposits or I am imagining things

they recommend at least one red line on every run ( i like 3rd for this )
it burns all the carbon out the engine and keeps everything clean
or so i have heard
and if you can do it in 5th you will be near 145-155 somewhere

Well, I guess I could redline in 2nd if I wanted. Maybe doing that at a slight uphill...
And I have chirped my tires like that. Then again, who hasn't done something stupid like that? It's funny and I'd just floor it for a burnout, but I don't have the money to pay for tires, place to do it safely, and ***** to ignore the law so blatently.

I think you are taking the redline recomendations a little ou of context.
Basically, the facts are that idling or granny driving the rotary (as similar with any other type of two stroke) will result in carbon build up that could eventually break off the rotor face and eat an apex seal. Revving the car out under load on a - relatively - regular basis (i usually end up doing it once a day whether intetionally or not) will help to REDUCE THE BUILDUP.
Don't just go out and redline the thing in neutral so you can"clean it out"....
