Redline

A couple of days ago, I saw a thread that said it was actually beneficial to redline your motor on a regular basis, to keep it running well. Now, I am sure we would all love to believe this, but does anyone have a reason why this is good?

To help blow out carbon deposits. At least as I understand it.

Yeah, it doesn't put nearly as much stress on rotaries as on piston engines which makes it safe to redline (to beginning of redline and not through it is what I am implying) daily.
It also breaks apart and tosses the carbon on the rotaries from the oil I believe is what causes the carbon buildup.
