Red interior spray paint?
Some of the interior pieces in my '87 T2 have faded in the sun.
I have the red/maroon interior.
I presume the best option is to pain the faded panels.
Is there a spray paint that matches the stock color available?

I'd just start painting black honestly, as I highly doubt you'll find an exact or even close match to the stock color in interior paint.
Love the Steve McQueen avatar by the way!

Spraying black over marroon is gonna be Shitty..I tried a sunroof Panel and roof liner.l.it was Horrible.
I ended up just taking the pieces to an upholstery shop, where they let me pick the fabric and they charged me 100 bucks to do the Roofliner and sunroof panel..it turned out great!

That's a great find....
I'm waiting for my Black Dragon catalog to arrive in the mail. I hadn't thought of looking for it there though.
Thank you!!

if you want to paint get these things
1. vinyl prep cleaner by "sem" # 38343
2. bulldog adhesion promoter
3. paint of your choice. i go with "sem" landou black looks freaking great but they have every color.
clean whatever part u wish to paint with mild soap and water. use a good but not harsh scrubber. i use the non scratch scrotch brite pads.
make sure you do this a few times as you need to get rid of the silicones that may have been applied through the years. i went over mine like 5-6 times.
let dry than do the vinyl prep. spray it on a cloth clean parts and wipe dry with another clean cloth. the vinyl prep cleaner is very important after everything is done u can test it and see if water beads off if it does that means silicones are still present and you need to do further cleaning. after u are damn sure everything is clean spray a tack coat of bulldog let dry than sprayt with color choice.
i did my whole int. from the dark blue to black. every single one of my friends thought it was brand new i even sprayed some carpet stuff black.

Maroon interior CAN restored
Don't listen to some of these goof ***** about painting black over maroon saying it can't be matched. I restored the interior in both my S4 TII I sold to MrBubble and my GSLSE.
You get a spray specifically made for flexible surfaces such as vinyle or cloth. Over the counter, primarily get from commecial auto paint stores. You can also bet it off EBay, best deal. The stuff you find at Pep Boys or the like is crap.
I'm out of town until the end of the month, so don't have the cans at hand to recite the manufacture or color that match's the stock maroon interior color. I'll try and find time to take a few pictures of my GSLSE so you can see how it turned out. But anyone that has seen the interior of my GSLSE are amazed how restored it looks.
Or, just to to a local auto paint store and tell them what you're trying to do and match. That's actually all I did to find it.

any good paint store will put the paint of your choice in a rattle can for you thats what i did.
dont get flexing paint as it doesnt retain flex. (flex agents evaporate after 24-48 hours its only for installing)
iall post pics of my int soon.

And, not sure about it not retaining it's flexability. But do know that 3+ years later not a hint of an issue. Still looks like it did when I first did the work.
