Black Dragon out of the 2nd gen part business

I just recently called Black Dragon, because I was trying to look at their online catalog for parts for my second gen. The lady stated that for the spring catalog they are not putting the 2nd gen and the rx8 catalog out. They are only producing 1st gen catalogs are and she is unsure if they will be bringing back the 2nd gen and rx-8 catalog. I personally find this to be disappointing considering their wide range of availability on parts for my car. Just thought I would give all you a heads up.

they used to be, but now when you look at parts for the 1st gen they grouped it with the nissan. I spent 20 mins searching the website when I decided to call and get a faster response

Like Mazdatrix, 95% of what they sold came directly from Mazda. You can still get almost everything directly from a dealership. The one time I was going to buy something from Black Dragon, they told me it would take months to get it.

I'm aware of that, but I am just being courteous by posting this. I do a lot of research on parts before I purchase knowing they are the same part I would prefer the least expensive because it keeps more money in my pocket so that it may be allocated else where.

the catalogue tha ti have now has the FC parts in it..it does have an FB on the front cover so perhaps the lady is mistaken. their prices are not the cheapest but they do have some decent parts.

What month is your catalog? Their online store doesn't have any listings for FC, FD, or RX-8's at the moment.

If you have a 2010 Winter Catalog keep the catalog because if you go to place my order and put a part number in for the FC it will still show up if they have it in order. There is a 2010 Spring catalog and the FC and Rx-8 is no longer part of it, it is not definitive that it is being axed. The biggest thing about Black Dragon was their selection on OEM parts cheap or not cheap they had a decent selection. I was not claiming them as the cheapest I was simply stating that I shop around for the cheapest part if I know they are the same in quality. Maybe if we are lucky and keep complaining to Black Dragon they will put the FC and Rx-8 catalog back out.

Wow, this is kind of surprising. I'd think there would be a lot of interest in aftermarket FC parts since there still seems to be a lot of interest in the cars. Just two weeks ago I checked the Black Dragon site looking for an FC air conditioner part that Mazda was no longer stocking and they still had it listed in the online catalog.

I've never ordered anything from Black Dragon because so far everything I've needed was cheaper from the dealer, but it is sad to see any aftermarket option drying up.

Sad news. I ordered once. I always liked to page thru the catalog. There were one of my options for me when my top finally dissolves.

Yeah, I just received their new catalog yesterday and it was Z cars and first gen RX-7 all in one catalog, no FC stuff. I ordered from them once before, but comparing some of their prices with the dealer, they were fairly overpriced. It does stink though, as I gather they were a source of some stuff not otherwise available.

Maybe the problem is that they turned off too many buyers trying to resell overly marked up Mazda OEM parts. It would be cool if they found a way to stay in business only offering non-OEM aftermarket stuff that you couldn't find elsewhere.

After reading this, I had to check the issue I just got a few day ago and I just can't believe it! Black Dragon was the place where I bought the first part for my FC! But, I guess I won't need them to send me any more catalogs!
