Im using KVR carbon pads

I also had EBC red stuff on my 87 TII - not too aggressive that they machine your rotors during street driving, but still good enough (once you get some heat into them) for some track use

I use Hawk HPS Pads. They stop great and I've never experienced fade on them, even when I did three consecutive stops from 120-50. If you autocross of track your car you'd need to bump up to HP Plus or Blue/Black pads for the event, but the HPS's are great for street and spirited driving.
I had EBC Green pads on my car when I bough them and they were very good too. They started fading in the end of their life, though.

I have the Hawk HP+ pads....

Downsides:
-If you have nice wheels you better be prepared to clean them every week because the dust like mad and its corrosive

-Sometimes you sound like a school bus stopping

-They are hard on rotors

Upside:

They stop like your *** depends on it

Boy do they stop!

i would either say endless, Hawks HPS pads, or Project Mu.
Hawks hps for the price - bang for the bucks
Endless for more hardcore use, such as track or auto X
Project Mu has bit of lower price but pretty much same category as endless.
remember to get streetable pads not track otherwise i dont think it work that well unless you go ultra high speed.

links for the pads: for project Mu, Endless and Hawks HPS

You can get Endless pads from Rishie at www.autornd.com

I have a set of Porterfields on my FC and they're lasting really well. My friends and I have a little touge club in the SC mountains, and they've never faded at all, even on the long downhills.

I'm using axxis ultimates, and I love them so far. I havnt gotten a chance to go for a nice spirited driving session with them yet because its been raining, but the bite even from cold is awesome. Based on the specs they should be hard to fade on the street, i'll find out when the weather clears up.

While they may be best for normal driving, I think most RX-7 owners go beyond "normal" driving, at least sometimes. I have never driven a car with stock brakes, but I would think they would fade under lots of hard use.
Also, I wouldn't recommend using pads that go through rotors for most people, especially considering how expensive our rotors are.

actually not much less than a cheap pad upgrade....they hold out surprisingly well...anyone who makes OE brakes fade on the street is driving like a ******* maniac.....

Carbotech have been the finest pads I've ever used. They carry several compounds with various friction coefficents & fade resistances for hardcore road racing to driving spirited driving.

Their Panther+ pads worked very well as a track day event pad on a 3600lb car with R-compounds and a pad that you can live with everyday. They're noisey & dusty - but no more than the Hawk HP+...but somehow the Carbotechs held up much better.

www.carbotecheng.com

I will never use another brand pad!

We're real newbies to FC's. The only experience that we have had is with Hawk. Started with HP+, worked great, squeal drove us nuts. Changed to MPS, still perform well (haven't tried auto-X yet), much less squeal.
