Rebuilt engine

Anyone ever bought a rebuilt engine off a website on here? If so from where. I've been looking at rx7 world, defined autoworks, and rotor piston motorsportz. I'm shopping for a s4 13b turbo fully assembled as possible ready to drop in and go including the turbo and intercooler possibly with a street port.

You're going to pay a premium to have them source and ensure the pieces they're using are presentable enough visually as well as functionally for liabilities sake. Of the names you've mentioned I'd say Logan is certainly capable, I'd also look into Banzai and IRP on the forum here. They may suggest you have a JDM engine shipped to them and torn down to ensure you've got all the pieces outside of the block, at least that's what I'd do.

I think I was just on the phone with Logan earlier today at defined autoworks. I was on their website and saw they sell rebuilt engines and had options for what you want/need done. I'm just looking to see what the best route is for a rebuilt engine cause I really realy don't want to buy one off someone with x amount of miles. I would like a freshly rebuilt one. Doest have to be street ported but it is desired.

Sure, what I'm saying though is that you're asking for a drop in solution, VS a bare keg. This is not the usual way of things and you may find that it behooves you to buy a JDM engine, rip the manifolding, sensors, etc etc off and then create a 'new' block'.

Right, you have a point. But I just think its less messing around to buy an engine and then send it out to have it rebuilt and ported. Rather than buying one already rebuilt.

To have all the parts in better than good condition sometimes takes a motor or two. Or $$$ for someone to source it all for you. I just dropped the dough on brand new rotor housings from Atkins which wasn’t even that bad @ $600 something each. The entire bill came to 2k after the rest of the rebuild parts were added and that’s w out sending the plates out to be lapped yet. Cutting corners can work... sometimes.
