Rebuilding my stock engine, need tips on mods i can do

Hi, Blew my engine and while I am rebuilding it I'm thinking i may as well do some engine mods to it, I already have a set of 2 mm ceramic seals on order, and going to do a street port.

Don't really know alot about RX7 engine mods and i'm looking to keep most of my mods non turbo related (standard turbo will do me fine for quite awhile). I'm hoping to eventually get about 300-400 rwkw.

I am guessing this is an N/A engine? If so, I don't know how much a street port will do for your engine. You'd see more efficient power with a street ported 13BT. You may want to research bridge porting and modifications to support bridge porting.

Just curious, how much RWHP would 300-400 RWKW be?

No, it is a turbo setup, but I'm only intending to run low boost for a while.

and 300rwkw is a little over 400rwhp

To get hp from kw multiply by 1.42, to get kw from hp divide by 0.7.

I'm no expert but I'd suggest a 2.25" or 2.5" full exhaust, decent air intake, bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, new hoses, plugs, pulleys and belts and a new ECU and tune. That should give a very nice increase in hp.

I'm hoping to get a Gilmer drive belt system, they sound awsome like a supercharger

Alright, a street port will do you well then. Most of the modifications that Josh13B told you would be a good start. You may want to add in a bigger turbo and a FMIC set-up.

You're on crack if you think that a street port isn't a good idea for an NA engine. Just because it doesn't add huge power gains like on a turbo car doesn't mean its not a good idea. A street port is the single most cost effective mod for an NA engine, in fact.

Well i already have a single pipe 3 inch exhaust system, I was already going to replace all my hoses, so just any suggestions for Air intake, injectors and pump brands would be great.

Obviously nothing overly expensive, but nothing cheap skate as well.

+1. Even though it's off topic. Now for on topic. I would still streetport it, and add all th mods listed earlier, in terms of fuel and tune. Then I would enjoy.
