rebuilding motor, few q's

so i got my motor out and torn down. i have a million pics but dont have time to post em all and everyone has seen a torn down rotary anyway. i have a few questions. on the long bolts that hold the motor together, there is one about 1/4" longer than the others. anyone know where that one goes? i numbered all the bolts but the solvent i used to clean em up took off the marker. also my rear rotor and housing are for sure junk. my irons are good except for one little thing that bothers me. where the water seal goes, there is a piece broken off. its not big but i would think that the seal might be compromised if i dont fix it. will jb weld hold?

and one more question. this is on the front rotor. where the puzzle joint is, there is that part thats ground down but i can actually see the puzzle joint and feel it if i run my finger across it.

the bearing also feels pitted on one side. will that matter? im sure it will but i want to make sure i have to get a new rotor before i do buy another pair.

You can just press in new bearings. Any local machine, or automotive shop could do it for you at a small price.

From the pic you should be able to just replace the bearing. Anything stand out on the out side of the rotor? All the grooves for everything in good shape?

I bought a RACING BEAT catalog years ago. It addressed the bearings and wear. It said whay YOU are looking at is normal. There will be an area where you see bronze and that is normal wear.

That said it's not that hard to install a new bearing.

I'd chunk that rear side housing. I rebuilt an engine for the guy around the block who's engine was shot and it was a land like yours that failed. The MAZDATRIX site has a FAQ place on it that addresses your problem ahd has pictures.

http://www.mazdatrix.com/faq/sidehsgs.htm new side housings and the price is on that site also. Dealers have the same stuff.

The joint in the bearing is factory from mazda. It's completely normal. The pitting, however, is not. Play it safe and replace it.

ok. i think i will press in a new bearing but for arguments sake.. if you look at the pic, you can see the brazed area where the joint is. if you look close you can see where that has worn off and the joint is visible. also as for the pitting, if you look left of the joint you will see that it is smooth and right of the joint it is discolored, that is pitting i believe.
