rebuilding brake calipers?
has anyone ever done this? is it hard? is it a pain in the ***?
I've got an extra set of brakes laying around, and since I'm too lazy to sell them, I've decided it would be a good idea to rebuild the calipers adn then swap them onto my car, since mine have probably over 100xxx miles on them. then maybe I'll sell the old ones. \
I don't think tehy really NEEED to be replaced, I just want to have pretty much a brand new braking system on my car.
any input is appreciated

im rebuilding mine right now, its a piece of cake, 4 bolts and calipters come apart on the alumnium front ones, then you just pull out the pistons and replace 1 0-ring and a boot, and put it back together, hardest part is looseing the bolts on teh calipters without breaking them. i broke one of mine and had to get another one, bad thing is there only 37$ from autoparts store for rebuilt ones with a core

as for rebuilding...if your pistons aren't rusted in...and you have some compressed air, its simple. put something between the pistons to keep them from flying out and put some compressed air in there. keep fingers away or youll smash them. with pistons out you can use the rebuild kit gaskets and stuff. oh and use that bloody search button at the top of the page. theres a ton of other threads exactly like this.
