is it rebuild time
is it rebuild time
well i did a compression test and i got over 100 on the rear but the front wont move at all like not even a bump but i can still drive the car it just as horrible idle and tries to die when i come to stop any ideas
I am curious also, since I have the same problem. Blue do you have to hold the throttle also, at a stop to hold idle? If so I would like to know the problem to this question.
Yeah, to me that isn't sounding good for your motor. You may try Seafoam and the water treatment, but if you're not getting compression off ANY of the seals in the front (which it sounds like you aren't) then I think the odds are low that it isn't blown.
Sounds like the apex seals to me. Same symptom on an 89 TII. Usually the front rotor goes on an S5 first. Maybe it is not an S5 (89-91), but I had the same exact symptoms over 100 in rear and nothing in the front.

its an 88 tII yea i put in n and kinda gas and brake when i come to a stop are it will die but it will hold the idle pretty good once ive come to a stop i just have to tap it a few times
Odds are its blown, sorry. Only reason is because your not getting any spikes. You never know, you could have two stuck seals but I doubt it. If you want to be positive take out your front plugs then get a little mirror and a flashlight and try to look in through the plug holes, best bet is the leading plug. Try to manually turn the engine over until an apex comes into view. If you don't see a seal, or a whole one, then its blown. Btw, this can also be done through the exhaust, which actually gives you a much better picture. However you need to take off the exhaust manifold for that. Your choice, I just think a spark plug is easier to take out.
